Great Good Fine Ok has been one of my favorite bands ever since I first heard their song "Find Yourself." The group's music is generally very chill and relaxing. Their genre is a little hard to describe, as there is actually a big variety of musical influences that goes into their music. Probably the best way I can describe their sound would be a mixture of electro-pop and indie that sometimes makes you question if they're from the 80's (in a good way).
During a lot of my free time and study sessions, I have Great Good Fine Ok, often shortened to GGFO, on shuffle and repeat. Their music just has this kind of groove in it that makes it perfect for almost any mood. All of their songs have such a positive and energetic vibe that you just can't help but smile while listening to them.
Their song that I mentioned before, "Find Yourself," is just one of my many favorite songs by GGFO. The song holds a lot of emotion as well as a beautiful message. The lead singer, Jon Sandler, passionately begs, "Don't let someone find you until you find yourself." The song is about needing to be happy with yourself before trying to be happy in a relationship.
Not even mentioning how amazing the songs are, Jon Sandler's voice is alone enough reason to listen to GGFO. His falsetto vocals are gorgeous, and, the best part, he sounds great live as well. If you don't believe me, watch their live performance of "Touch" below. "Touch" is actually my favorite song by GGFO right now, and Jon does an amazing job of singing this live.
If I could just walk up to everyone I know and tell them to listen to Great Good Fine Ok without looking weird, I totally would. So, please, before I have to resort to that, give them a listen and let me know what you think.
If you liked "Touch," give "Find Yourself" a listen here:
